Subject Objectives:
The Thematic Studies aims at equipping students with life skills, critical thinking and analytical skills via fundamental knowledge on individual, family, science and technology, and nature. In the learning process, students will benefit from developing better traits and pursuing healthy lifestyle, which further fosters them to develop positive and responsible attitude towards social interaction.

Learning Strategies: 1. Inquiry approach Students are encouraged to explore what they need to learn in the lessons.
P4 students use the KWL chart to organize what they want to learn in the topic.
2. Project based In every Unit, students are required to research on one of the topics. The project is taught and assessed based on the subject knowledge, generic skills and project skills.
P3 students designed their own labels for medicine, and learn the importance of using medicine wisely.
3. Stress on Hands-on experiences
Students are encouraged to learn through trial and error. They are encouraged to learn by working out what they learn.
P1 class has Science Fair for learning the classification of animals.
4. Enhance collaborative learning Students are encouraged to have collaboration during lessons. Learning activities are arranged so that students can work together and learn from each other. Students’ participation is increased, and learner diversity is catered.
P4 students are working together to classify different food in the food pyramid.
