English-rich Learning Environment

Our School aims to ensure that all students develop fluent and accurate spoken and written English. We believe that the best way to achieve high standards in English is for students to learn English through immersion as the medium of instruction in a large proportion of the curriculum. Starting this year, our primary one students have two homeroom teachers – one native English- speaking teacher and one local English teacher who share teaching and pastoral responsibility for the class. Drama is also incorporated into our English curriculum because we believe that learning English through drama is a successful and fun way to improve English. To provide an enriching and fulfilling environment, we have hired a total of 13 NETs and one drama NET teacher.

Putonghua-assisted Chinese Language Teaching

Besides English, Putonghua has become an increasingly important international language. To encourage our students to speak accurate and fluent Putonghua, we create a Putonghua-rich learning environment, such as conducting Assembly and Campus TV in Putonghua so that students can use the language authentically. Our school has also participated in Teacher Exchange with Mainland teachers so that our students have more exposure to Putonghua.

In addition, our P.1 Chinese teachers have developed a school-based Putonghua curriculum. Fun activities have been designed to raise students' interest in learning Putonghua. To develop students' lifelong interest in the study of Chinese literature, upper primary students are introduced to the artistic value of modern and classical Chinese poetry.
